Roof top safety awarenessCourse introduction A half day course aimed at identifying the hazards and risks of working on a rooftop. The course is a classroom theory based course looking at the safety issues whilst working on a rooftop. Looks at the legislative issues and the Hierarchy of measures needed to keep the worker safe.

There are no practical sessions involved in this course. This course is not aimed at a worker who needs access onto unprotected roofs or using vertical ladder access systems.

Course approval This course is Arqiva approved and is a perquisite for working on any Arqiva site

Certificate Validation The course is non – practical and validation is for 3 years.

Prerequisites Minimum age 18 and a good understanding of English is desirable

Course content Categories of Heights – Working at Heights Legislations – Hazard Identification – Risk Assessments – Basic RF hazards – Emergency considerations – Access and Egress implications – Safe working zones whilst on a rooftop.

Assessment procedure There will be a questions and answers paper on completion of the course to gauge your understanding of the course content. Assistance will be given for those who may need it.
